You all have probably noticed that nose chain I have on in the banner for our blog. Well, that was my first nose chain ever that I made. Here is a video of the finished project!!!!

Cyber Monday

Spending time with the fam for thanksgiving was great! Spending black friday in huntsville...not so much. The coolest store we have here is forever21...no H&M, no urban outfitters, nothing!! So unlike most ppl I woke up around 12pm and headed to my local home depot lol. I picked out this wicked shade of red paint, its not really red more like maroon, it's called ruby ring. I'm in total love with it, I plan on going extreme makeover on my room during the christmas break!! lol.

Which has been total torture! Solestruck.com is taking 50% off of all sale items (pause), yes you read right 50% off of ALL SALE ITEMS. I honestly spent all day trying to buy the Jeffrey Campbell Tardy wine velvet and the In Trouble in leopard brown, but solestruck kept shutting down, they had an overload of costumers:( everytime i thought i had the shoes in my bag, someone checked out before me!!! I felt like an anger clown would blow me a pretty doggy balloon, then pop it as soon as i would reach for it:(

I couldn't take the torture any longer so i went searching for other sites that had good deals. I almost gave up until i went to karmaloop.com, they were taking 30% sale items, not as good as 50% but better then nothing, right? They didn't have the wine velvet tardy's but they did have them in red which were equally as nice, so after about an hour of looking at pics of them on tumblr, i was like "what the heck, these shoes retail for $200 and i'm paying less than $100, nah i gotta get them" so i'm feeling pretty good, pretty great right now:)

Now to my second find, I've been wanting a pair of creepers for months now. They have so many different styles I kinda got overwhelmed and couldn't choose, so I just went with the all black leather lolol. i hope they come in soon!

Lastest Obessesion

So I can't remember how this little fetish of mine started...but it's taking over my life!!!  I'm up all day and night bidding or searching for deals, I'm out of control!

Hey everyone, my name is Kalila and I'm addicted to SHOES:) 

Two months ago I would've frowned at girls who spent over $ 40 on shoes (I'm not cheap, I'm frugal), but now I understand how important shoes are in the completion of an outfit. How could I have been so naive?! lol okay I'll stop being so dramatic...honestly, shoes make me happy, and if it makes you happy it isn't that bad, right?

So my latest find are the Steve Madden "Collosuls"

Hey Peeps!

Heeya! So, lately my closet obsession has been...wait for it...colored hair. Yea I know so interesting yea? lol well there are several looks I want to achieve but kinda lack the balls to do...green hair, blue hair, magenta perhaps...well nevertheless, I shall and do pledge that in the new year, I resolve to at least try one. Gonna need some weave though... but hey that's life :)

I'm loving this mix with blue and purple... just might try it!

My Historic Perception of Fashion

Fashion is a tool for expressing myself. I know that sounds real cliche but it's true! At a young age, I lost my maternal grandmother. Growing up I felt robbed of not knowing a true style icon. Her elegance was often portrayed to me through pictures shown to me by my mother. My mom did a great job of expressing style secrets that date back to my great grandmother. But my craving for fashion came from wanting to embody the eloquence from my grandmother's style.
I'm often nicknamed an old soul. My inability to go back in time upsets me. I guess not knowing my grandma made me fall in love with the era she grew up in. Specifically the 40s to the 60s inspired me at first when it came to style. My fondness for history intertwined with fashion became a new hobby for me.
Early on I fell in love with style icons such as Dorothy Dandridge who was breathtaking in Carmen Jones, Marilyn Monroe's ever famous white halter top dress and Jackie Kennedy's famous pink coat she wore on the day her husband was murdered.
In Junior High, I tended to associate my fashion views with my feminist views. I believed fashion was a tool that women inwardly possessed. Fashion moved away from housewives, long skirts into a more modern feminine style approach. I think this is where my feminist approach stemmed from. Women slowly started to express themselves through an avenue called fashion.
Learning about the existence of the birth control pill which led to the sex revolution, the civil rights movement and the Hippie movement made me want to express that care free attitude that lay within me. I just wanted to walk around barefooted and protest for no reason lol. I wanted to be able to rock out to the Beetles live and go to a drive in movie. This time in history brought upon change in the way people thought and especially the way people dressed. I just wanted to wear a whole bunch of sequins like Diana Ross and dress up like Tammi Terrell and do my eye makeup bold like Twiggy (even though I suck at makeup lol). I just wanted to be carefree in my dressing. But High school restricted me from doing that. High school was a time of that style limiting thing called uniforms. It was really hard to express myself the way I wanted to when it came to fashion. I didn't want to be called weird and I wasn't bold enough to showcase my true style and so I stuck to the conventional way of dressing. This kind of led to me moving away for school. I wanted to be able to dress the way I wanted!
When I came to University I did just that. I don't define my style. It's a mix of everything. I just go with the flow. I embody whatever I'm feeling at that moment. I think right now I'm trying to incorporate that corporate look because I want to be a lawyer with my unconventional way of dressing. Fashion has always been my clutch. It's something that I can totally be myself in. Its a tool used to showcase different sides of me. It's an expression to who I am. Fashion is deep! It ain't shallow at all!
