Toronto Baby!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeya!

It was so nice to get re-acquainted with our beloved city! We walked around a little, took in the sights then headed over to the mall. Once there, we checked out some stores and were amazed by the deals! So many sales!

We took in the beautiful Swarovski Crystal decorated Christmas tree

Then, we made our way over to Aldo and Little Burgundy to check out this season’s must have shoes

Our day was going so well we hardly realized we were even hungry. So, we went down to the food court and look what they gave us; glasses for our drinks? I hear they even put the food on plates too!

But before leaving the mall we had to highlight some fashionable Torontonians we spotted.

      

All in all, I was a great day out on the town!

Grace Kelly Exhibit

Hey peeps!

So yesterday, we went to an AWESOME Grace Kelly Exhibit that took place downtown, in our city, Toronto (represent! Lol). It was so much fun! It was fascinating to see how Grace's style evolved through two major events of her life: Hollywood  star to princess of Monaco. Even though her style progressed as time went on, the simplicity of her style never changed. Her open-mindedness and her love for the arts was often portrayed through her style. She was a huge fashion icon and popularized many styles that we still crave for today such as the “Kelly” bag. 

Another style that has transcended through time is Kelly's glasses. Kelly was short sighted and so she incorporated sunglasses into her look which helped popularize them in the 60’s and 70’s. VERY INNOVATIVE!

Grace loved simple, turban style hats which is a peaking trend at this moment. Having your own trademark when it comes to individual style is essential and Grace's was her white gloves! She adored white gloves and wore them a lot.

Although a very fashion forward woman, she rarely went to fashion shows but chose her attire from sketches by designers.

Grace Kelly had a photoshoot for a french magazine.Due to a hotel power outage, the dress she originally planned to wear could not be ironed so instead she wore a simple unwrinkled dress made from a McCall's sewing pattern. Now that's a true "fashionista"! 

     

Now, Miss Kelly loved her weave! Oh, yes she did! Her hairstylist was Alexandre of Paris and whenever she went to events she had long hair extensions and many times incorporated braids into her hairstyles.

The highlight of the exhibit for us was her wedding dress. It was simply lovely! According to the exhibit, “Helen Rose designed the gown. According to MGM, creating Kelly’s wedding ensemble had taken six weeks and involved the skills of 35 studio craftspeople, working under strict conditions to preservethe secrecy of their design.”

Bright Skies & Flowers

We were lucky enough to have warm weather today in HSV. Words can't express how happy this made us! So to not let this beautiful day go to waste, we decided to take a few pics. It's a good thing we did because Jode & Rachael are heading home to Toronto for the holidays tomorrow. I hope they make it home safely!!

I like how we're matching in floral print shirts lol...totally wasn't planned but hey great minds think alike, right? :)

Okay so I am loving this new jewelry line Forever 21 is bringing to us. It's real edgy, something I've never seen Forever 21 do for real. But I absolutely love this new collection. The collection is called Alex & Chloe and it features that 80's punk vibe that is definitely in right now! My fave are the necklaces and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the rings... real cool and edgytabulous (definitely made this up lol)!

So I'm here to admit that I am a Gaga fan. There...I said it and I am not ashamed lol. I love Lady Gaga for her outrageous choices in clothing, her sick beats and her lyrics...whoa...who else can write like her? Yea...didn't think so. Oh and let's not forget her performances! People still talk about them years after the fact. For me, Lady Gaga does all the crazy things I would have wanted to do with my life lol. From day one she has caught the attention of people everywhere with her catchy music and unique fashion choices. Whether it's tea with the Queen or "simply" walking through the airport sans pants, Lady Gaga is all about shock value. Now don't get me wrong, these days she still is in the business to confuse and bewilder with her choice in attire, but lately I have seemed to notice a more fashionable and wearable Gaga. It seems like she is adopting a classier look and I am very pleased she looks AMAZING!!!
